COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides a thorough neuroanatomical background for neuroscientists in general.
LEARNING GOALS
After following this course students will have acquired insight into functional neuroanatomy.
CONTENTS
Topics that will be covered include:
- the dimensions and topographical relationships in the human brain via human brain dissection
- the major functional systems for information processing, sensory and motor functions
- aspects of development and aging
- normal histological preparations of human brains and in major neuropathological changes related to diseases of the human brain
REQUIRED BACKGROUND LEVEL
No specific background is needed to participate in this course
FORMAT
The course consists of lectures, human brain dissection practicals, site-visits and a quiz
