Becoming a member of ONWAR is a step-by-step process. You can already register for courses after completing the first step, while your Training and Supervision Plan (TSP) is being approved.
The first step is to officially register with the ONWAR Graduate School. This adds you to the mailing list and gives you access to register to our Courses. Please note that it is only possible to participate in ONWAR and ONWAR’s training program, when you hold a PhD-position at one of the institutes participating in ONWAR.
Every PhD student must submit a Training and Supervision Plan. This document outlines your research goals, planned courses, and supervision frequency. Download the template to complete with your supervisor. The TSP provides more information on ONWAR course requirements.
When you have filled out your TSP with your and your supervisor’s signature, email it to the ONWAR Coordinator (Kim Hubregtse – k.hubregtse@vu.nl). The ONWAR coordinator reviews your TSP and provides feedback if needed. Make the necessary changes until it is approved.
Once it is approved, a teaching committee member from your institute will be assigned to you. Meet with the teaching committee member and have them sign your approved TSP.
Once you have your TSP signed by the teaching committee member, return it to ONWAR. You will be assigned your ONWAR mentor. Much like with the teaching committee member, meet with your mentor and have them also sign your TSP.
Once your TSP is signed by your mentor, return it to ONWAR. The ONWAR coordinator will sign the TSP and return it to you. Your registration is now officially complete!
